Tomathy Wilson brings his friend Aubrey Holmes to Vienna to meet with the famous Sigmund Freud, hoping the father of psychoanalysis can help explain Holmes' increasingly erratic behavior.
But their quest for answers only leads to more questions as Holmes' mental state spirals out of control. From public outbursts to disturbing delusions, Holmes' antics threaten to sabotage the meeting with Freud.
However, a chance encounter with the charming yet mysterious Richard Murphiarty sheds new light on Holmes' condition. Murphiarty implies that Holmes' problems actually stem from many years before back in Ireland.
With Holmes' sanity and their friendship hanging in the balance, Wilson must separate truth from fiction and get to the bottom of what really happened to his friend.
Will Freud be able to unlock the secrets of Holmes' troubled mind? Or does the key to the mystery lie within Murphiarty's cryptic revelations?
Join Wilson and Holmes on their whirlwind adventure in pre-war Vienna, where nothing is quite as it seems.
Oh Vienna! They run into old friend Seamus Byrnie working at cáfe Diglas on Strobelgasse. Therein a chance meeting with the mysterious Professor Murphiarty leads them to visit the Wiener Konzerthaus at his behest.
In the lobby they meet Austrian Chancellor Ignaz Seipel and all hell breaks loose once seats are taken.
Culminating in the worst possible of situations and the fracturing of a friendship. Only Sigmund Freud has the answers.
