Moshtalgia - Episode 10 - Christmas Special
Tuesday Jan 02, 2024
Tuesday Jan 02, 2024
This is Moshtalgia. A podcast about albums we love, albums that were important to us growing up.
As the scent of cinnamon and pine fills the air, there's nothing quite like the discomfort of Christmas music to truly unhinge the festive spirit. In our latest podcast episode, we unwrap the tinsel-covered tales of Christmas past, revisiting some of the most iconic holiday tunes that have become as much a part of our celebrations as the tree itself.
From the nonsense of The Darkness's 'Christmas Time (Don't Let the Bells End)' to the heartsquirming Moshtalgia of Wham's 'Last Christmas,' each song carries a story, a memory, and a magic that's undeniably Christmas. We delve deep into the making of these tracks, the artists who brought them to life, and the legacies they've created.
But it's not all jingle bells and choir carols. Our episode takes a turn down memory lane, exploring the poignant narratives behind songs like 'Fairytale of New York' by The Pogues and the raucous cheer of Slade's 'Merry Xmas Everybody.' We discuss the impact of these songs on our holiday traditions and why they continue to resonate year after year.
As you deck the halls and trim yer tree, let our podcast be the soundtrack to your festive preparations. Join us as we celebrate the sounds of the silly season and maybe even discover the stories behind the Christmas classics you thought you knew. Pour yourself a glass of Eggnog, settle in snug by the fire, and tune in to our Christmas Special – it's an audio gift that keeps on giving.
So, what makes a Christmas song endure the test of time? Is it the melody that echoes through the shopping centre speakers, the lyrics that tug at our heartstrings, or the artists whose songs have become synonymous with the festive season? Find out in this episode, filled with laughter, insights, and a touch of alcholic yuletide cheer.
There's absurdity, snark, and blistering twin-microphone facts from Taylor and Bourney, fully harmonised with double-tracked wailing and complaining. We men do play on ten, to Valhalla and back.
Best served with beer and a side of silliness. Lie back and enjoy it. Come join us on a review of those now-vintage LPs we loved in the 1980s from the bands that parted us from our money.
It isn't just two friends chatting in front of microphone about their long-haired heavy metal days. Well it is, but also it's much more.
Dive deep into the spurious subconsious of two middle-aged metallers regaling the days of their youth with squirming stories, analogue anectodes, and antsy accusations from the east coast of Ireland. We name and shame, mostly ourselves.
Remember that first metal album? First concert? The rock ballad you first copped off to on a disco dancefloor with nervous hands and dry lips? Yeah, you do.
We let the hair on down the back, steal tapes, photocopy covers, and even buy a bullet-belt. We deftly sew patches on our denim jackets, and pilfer magazines in the shop.
Offering our metal heroes no quarter. We praise and prosletyse, we ridicule and rile. We spar with each other and the teenage illusions we had when hearing these masterpieces.
Armed with a sonic scalpel, we cleave our way through track by track, appraise hits and filler a generation on. Who dared battle the Saracen? Who gave love a bad name? Who danced on glass? Listen and find out.
Tune in to rock radio again, hear it as it was, all entombed by fat and freckled guitar segues brought to you by our resident riffer, that man from Annamoe; Pat 'The Fingerer' Shaughnessy!
We rifle through the pages of once-mighty UK rock organ Kerrang for hot takes of the late Eighties. Hear the words of Malcolm Dome, Dante Bonutto, Sylvie Simmons, Howard Johnson, Chris Watts, Alison Joy, and Mick Wall as they gurn over the news, interviews, and reviews of the day.
Moshtalgia exposes many a metal mistake, a misheard lyric, and as much madness as your mind can muster. You will hear the voices of the bands giving comment directly here on our podcast. Their voices voiced through our own larynxes that is.
Hear the doyen of UK rock radio, Tommy Vance, along with producer Tony Wilson, deliver rock and metal weekly for a scant-yet-prescious two FM hours on the UK's BBC Radio One. If you know it, you're in for a treat on this show. If you don't, you're still in for a treat on this show. Rock on Tommy! It doesn't matter what age you are.
We absorb musician autobiographies and gorge on metal authors to skull it back, slurp it down, and regurgitate back up for your listening pleasure.
Moshtalgia is a delirious day trip to the past with a gimlet wince and a black-toothed grin at rock and metal from the 1980s.
Just let me rock! Moshtalgia with Taylor and Bourney. A proper podcast.

Moshtalgia - Episode 09 - Metallica - The Black Album
Tuesday Jan 02, 2024
Tuesday Jan 02, 2024
This is Moshtalgia. A podcast about albums we love, albums that were important to us growing up.
As the tightly riffed strains of 'Enter Sandman' filled the airwaves in August of 1991, a generation of teenagers found a voice that echoed their own angst and dreams. On today's episode of our podcast, we plunge into the depths of Metallica's seminal work, the Black Album, a record that not only defined an era but also shaped the lives of two young men growing up on Ireland's east coast.
Through the lens of our mightly Moshtalgia, we dissect the album track by track, uncovering the layers of raw energy and emotion that have cemented its place in rock history. From the hefty plodder 'Sad But True' to the soul-stirring get-yer-lighter-out ballad 'Nothing Else Matters,' we explore the evolution of Metallica's sound and the tenacity of producer Bob Rock.
But this episode isn't just about the music. It's a tapestry woven with the threads of our personal stories, the trials of adolescence, and the bittersweet memories of secondary school. We share anecdotes of creeping into school grounds, the nervous anticipation of exam results, and the camaraderie of listening to this groundbreaking album with friends.
Join us as we take you back to a time when music wasn't just background noise but the soundtrack to our lives. We'll laugh, we'll debate, and we might even shed a tear as we revisit the days when the Black Album reigned supreme. Tune in and let the power of Metallica's magnum opus transport you back to your teenage years, no matter where you grew up.
There's absurdity, snark, and blistering twin-microphone facts from Taylor and Bourney, fully harmonised with double-tracked wailing and complaining. We men do play on ten, to Valhalla and back.

Moshtalgia - Episode 08 - Motley Crue - Girls, Girls, Girls
Tuesday Jan 02, 2024
Tuesday Jan 02, 2024
This is Moshtalgia. A podcast about albums we love, albums that were important to us growing up.
Step into Taylor and Bourney's metal time machine as we revisit one of the most flared-nostril albums of the 80s: Mötley Crüe's 'Girls, Girls, Girls'. Our latest podcast episode is a deep dive into the hedonistic world of a band that defined an era with their wild antics and unapologetically simple sound.
With over 4 million copies sold, 'Girls, Girls, Girls' skyrocketed to the top of the charts and became a staple for the Sunset Strip. But what's the real story behind the songs? From the adrenaline-fuelled title track to the syrupy 'You're All I Need', we explore the music, the myths, and the men behind the piss-stained mascara madness.
We'll take you behind the scenes of the album's creation, recorded at studios One on One in Los Angeles and Conway in Hollywood. Hear about producer Tom Werman's influence, the band's struggles with addiction, and the wild lifestyle that nearly ended it all.
But it's not just about the chaos. We delve into the craftsmanship of hits like 'Wild Side' and the infamous 'Girls, Girls, Girls', examining the lack of lyrical depth and missing musical mastery that often gets necessarily overshadowed by the band's notorious image.
There's absurdity, snark, and blistering twin-microphone facts from Taylor and Bourney, fully harmonised with double-tracked wailing and complaining. We men do play on ten, to Valhalla and back.

Moshtalgia - Episode 07 - Saxon - Crusader
Monday Jan 01, 2024
Monday Jan 01, 2024
This is Moshtalgia. A podcast about albums we love, albums that were important to us growing up.
Saxon's 'Crusader' was released in 1984, an album that not only didn't define the band's career but also left a delible mark on the hearts of metal fans across the globe. In our latest podcast episode, we strap on our bullet belts and dive deep into the tight leather trousers of this Marmite album.
'Crusader' was the follow-up to Saxon's 'Power and the Glory,' and it quickly rose to become their biggest-selling album. Recorded at the renowned Sound City Studios in Van Nuys, California, it reached number 18 on the UK album charts and charted in the US Billboard Albums at 174. But what made this album resonate with so few?
Our episode explores the wayward production by Kevin Beamish, whose previous works with REO Speedwagon hinted at the commercial sound Saxon was aiming for. We discuss the band's desire to crack the American market and how this ambition influenced the direction of 'Crusader.' Yet, as came the commercial sheen, the album contained less raw energy that captured the essence of Saxon's sound.
Throughout the episode, we dissect each track, from the anthemic title track "Crusader" to the soft rock single 'Sailing to America.' We share stories from the recording studio, insights from the band members, and the reception from fans and critics alike. The episode is packed with Moshtalgia, laughter, and a fair share of headscratching moments.
Whether you're a lifelong Saxon fan or a newcomer to their oeuvre, our podcast episode offers something for everyone. Join us as we relive the power and the potential glory of 'Crusader,' and discover why this album still rankles the metal community today. Tune in, turn 'er up, and let the Moshtalgia wash over you like the greasy riffs of Saxon's metallery.
There's absurdity, snark, and blistering twin-microphone facts from Taylor and Bourney, fully harmonised with double-tracked wailing and complaining. We men do play on ten, to Valhalla and back.

This is Moshtalgia. A podcast about albums we love, albums that were important to us growing up.
Revisit the era when heavy metal was not just music but a way of life. Our latest podcast episode is a tribute to the heart-pounding, headbanging masterpiece that is Pantera's 'Vulgar Display of Power'. This album, which became the anthem for a generation of metalheads, is more than just a collection of tracks—it's a cultural phenomenon that defined the 90s metal scene.
From the moment you hear the opening riff of 'Mouth for War', you're transported back to a time when tattoos were symbols of rebellion and mosh pits were sacred grounds. As we dissect each track, we explore the meticulous production by Terry Date, the same genius behind Soundgarden's earth-shattering sounds.
But it's not just about the music. We delve into the stories of the band members, like bassist Rex Brown and his autobiography 'Official Truth 101 Proof', giving us a raw look at the lives behind the legends. We reminisce about the days when Pantera's music videos were a staple on Beavis and Butthead, and how their sound evolved from glam rock beginnings to the iconic groove metal that still resonates with fans today.
Our episode is a Moshtalgic journey that will reignite your passion for heavy metal. It's a chance to remember the sweat, the tattoos, the pogoing in the stalls, and the unapologetic spirit of Pantera. So put on your moth-eaten band t-shirt, dust off your air guitar, and join us to pay homage to an album that wasn't just heard—it was felt.
There's absurdity, snark, and blistering twin-microphone facts from Taylor and Bourney, fully harmonised with double-tracked wailing and complaining. We men do play on ten, to Valhalla and back.

Moshtalgia - Episode 04 - Guns N’ Roses - Appetite For Destruction
Monday Jan 01, 2024
Monday Jan 01, 2024
This is Moshtalgia. A podcast about albums we love, albums that were important to us growing up.
In the summer of 1987, a seismic shift occurred in the world of rock music. A band of misfits from the streets of Los Angeles released an album that would become the soundtrack for a generation of rebels and dreamers. This band was none other than Guns N' Roses, and the album was Appetite for Destruction.
Our latest podcast episode takes you on a journey back to the days when rock was raw, unapologetic, and larger than life. We dissect the album track by track, sharing the stories and the mayhem that fueled the creation of songs like 'Welcome to the Jungle,' 'Sweet Child O' Mine,' and 'Paradise City.'
As two young men growing up on the east coast of Ireland, we found ourselves enthralled by the sheer power and emotion that bled from the speakers whenever we played Appetite for Destruction. It wasn't just music; it was a call to arms, an invitation to break free from the mundane and embrace the chaos of youth.
Throughout the episode, we explore the cultural impact of Guns N' Roses' debut album, how it redefined the rock genre, and why, after 30 million copies sold worldwide, it continues to resonate with fans old and new. We dive into the band's tumultuous history, the genius of Slash's guitar riffs, Axl Rose's distinctive vocal range, and with Izzy, Steven, and Duff, the rhythm section's relentless drive that gave the album its backbone.
We also share personal anecdotes, reflecting on how this album influenced our lives and the way we viewed the world. From the reckless abandon of our teenage years to the moshtalgia we feel now, Appetite for Destruction remains a timeless piece of art that continues to inspire.
This episode is more than just a review; it's a tribute to an album that dared to be different, to a band that refused to conform, and to the enduring spirit of rock 'n' roll. So whether you're a lifelong fan or a newcomer to the legend of Guns N' Roses, we invite you to join us in celebrating one of the greatest rock albums of all time.

Monday Jan 01, 2024
This is Moshtalgia. A podcast about albums we love, albums that were important to us growing up.
In the pantheon of heavy metal, few albums have achieved legendary status quite like Iron Maiden's 1988 masterpiece, 'Seventh Son of a Seventh Son'. This concept album not only cemented Iron Maiden's place as metal gods but also captured the imagination of a generation.
In our latest podcast episode, we embark on a journey back to the days of denim jackets and long hair, exploring the album that became the soundtrack to our teenage years. We delve into the lore behind the lyrics, the genius of the band's dual guitar assaults, and the unmistakable vocals of Bruce Dickinson, affectionately known as the 'Air Raid Siren'.
From the mystical cover art by Derek Riggs to the album's chart-topping success, we dissect what made 'Seventh Son of a Seventh Son' a phenomenon. With personal anecdotes and a track-by-track analysis, we bring to life the album's themes of prophecy, the battle between good and evil, and the supernatural powers of the fabled Seventh Son.
Delve into the timeless quality of Iron Maiden's music and how it continues to resonate with fans old and new. We discuss the album's influence on the metal genre and why, after all these years, it remains a high watermark for Iron Maiden and heavy metal music.
Whether you're a diehard fan or a curious newcomer, this episode is a must-listen. So join us as we pay homage to 'Seventh Son of a Seventh Son' and relive the glory days of metal. Turn 'er up, and let the memories flood back as we celebrate one of the greatest 1980s rock albums ever to hit the mainstream airwaves.

Moshtalgia - Episode 02 - Bon Jovi - Slippery When Wet
Monday Jan 01, 2024
Monday Jan 01, 2024
This is Moshtalgia. A podcast about albums we love, albums that were important to us growing up.
Stumble down memory lane to revisit one of the most iconic albums of the 1980s: Bon Jovi's "Slippery When Wet." Released on August 18th, 1986, this powerhouse of an album not only catapulted Bon Jovi into the stratosphere of rock superstardom but also left an indelible mark on the music industry and fans alike.
In this episode of our podcast, we delve deep into the grooves of Slippery When Wet, exploring the stories and the energy behind hits like 'Livin' on a Prayer,' 'You Give Love a Bad Name,' and 'Wanted Dead or Alive.' These anthems became more than just songs; they were the battle cries of a generation, the soundtrack to countless memories, and the hymns of rebellious youth.
We discuss the album's inception, the genius of producer Bruce Fairbairn, and how Bon Jovi's New Jersey roots influenced their sound and lyrics. The episode also pays tribute to the late Fairbairn, whose production credits include not just Slippery When Wet but also Bon Jovi's follow-up New Jersey and AC/DC's Razor's Edge.
But it's not just about the music. Come back to a time when rock radio was king, and magazines like Kerrang were the bibles of rock fandom. We reminisce about tuning into the Friday Rock Show on BBC Radio, presented by Tommy Vance, and how these media shaped our experience of discovering Bon Jovi across the Atlantic.
Our journey doesn't stop there. Presenters Taylor and Bourney share personal anecdotes of growing up in Ireland, the thrill of catching radio signals on a good day, and the cultural phenomenon that was Bon Jovi in the British Isles. We even dive into the critical reception of the album, discussing Rolling Stone's snarky review and contrasting it with our own teenage perspectives.
Slippery When Wet sold over 28 million copies, and its legacy endures. It's a testament to the timelessness of great rock music and the enduring appeal of Bon Jovi. So whether you're a die-hard fan or a newcomer to the classic rock scene, this episode is a must-listen.
There's absurdity, snark, and blistering twin-microphone facts from Taylor and Bourney, fully harmonised with double-tracked wailing and complaining. We men do play on ten, to Valhalla and back.

Mount Pheasant III
Monday Jan 01, 2024
Monday Jan 01, 2024
Mount Eidel is shocked, the Jurassic Burkes livid, and trapper Tom is about to strip down to his loincloth. It all kicked-off on a typical Friday night in Dessie Grafton’s pub as DJ Sammy implored the drinkers to clap their hands.
One-by-one the face-offs began. Dick Pheasant with Tighe, Barney, and Brendan Burke outside the back. What’s that Tighe has in his hands? A crossbow?
Then the hair-sprayed pastor squares up to Dick in the gent’s toilets, proselytising and patronising. With a spray of L’Oréal he’s wafting out the door to pin down new local vicar Reverend Hillstrand to offer a hand of friendship. Or is he?
The morning after, chaos descends as Cottle Fardell, driven by Ponkin Bourke on his moped, delivers shopping up to Dick Pheasant’s flat. But just what is that on the end of his bed? And how did it get there? Just what happened last night? Paranoia and fear grip the hungover air.
Get ready to run for your life through the Ballygannorn woods as Dick plunges into the thicket as friend and foe collide in this twisting thrill-ride loaded with hairspray, disguises, and school desks in the middle of the woods.
Can Dick survive tyres, cattle prods, electric cables, and a raging river to reveal the truth behind the reverend's assailant?
The Jurassic Bourke family are on the chase. The unethical and outdated Pastor is in pursuit, and the well-meaning trapper Tom Kendall strips off and teams up with Cottle and Ponkin for cash. All of them have declared open season on the ‘great Mount Eidel pheasant hunt’.
All of them want Dick Pheasant.
Follow the clues, red herrings, and daring plans as this thrilling manhunt leads to a fiery showdown and a shocking confession. Burnt bloodery in the woods!
Mount Pheasant III. It’s a fight for the future.

The Friday Rock Show - 49 - Evicted
Monday Jan 01, 2024
Monday Jan 01, 2024
The Friday Rock Show is being evicted! Turfed out on their ear, Adgeen and Tony are physically ejected as a Sharp WQ-T234 crashes to the kerb behind them. After 33 years, fat-infested local landlord Alun inherits the lease, reports the boys for tax evasion, as he’s done squatting in his 1970s Farrhar-made crud-filled caravan after being kicked out by his wife for bending over young ones outside Moneystown dance hall.
Adgeen and Tony have to sling their slash-hook. But there’s one last Friday Rock Show to record before they are homeless. And what an elephantine episode it is! The longest ever FRS. The longest ever letter! Possibly the crudest most disgusting collection of original sick and twisted tales ever assembled in one show, all blazoned in a glorious world of foley effects and score.
There’s a preternatural tale from Tucker Peacock, when joined by the Timefiddler and his dog Biscuits, they seek out local man Oliver, prising open the case of the haunted sex doll.
Jagger wheezes into battle with his crucifixes and holy water, morphing into his alter-ego ‘ The Scourge’ to meet his match in the Woolmaster at the community hall. There’s chanting, dogs, sheep, tape recorders, and a naked man jumping around.
The spittingly nervous Neddy Busher claims a desert island in his own name and spends 100 days in ever-deranged isolation, with only a fat round rock for company that reminded him of Byrnie’s head.
Harvey Normal recounts the ‘Thirty Year Wait’® for former gloryists Liverpool FC to win their domestic league, the ups and mostly downs, from winning under Dalglish to near misses under the French Houllier.
Not done with this football club; ‘man of science’ Orpheus Telch dons a kaftan to travel to Qatar to see Liverpool in the Club World Cup final, in a pragmatic pursuit of the meaning of obsessive fandom. From the stands, things take off almost instantly.
This Friday Rock Show has it all, if all to you means football, drama, laughs, and sheep in a local hall. You won't want to miss it!
Tristan Pigeon-Pole Paisley buys Ard Avon House in Rathdrum and takes a photo of an eerie green apparition in his newly-purchased decrepit manor, little does he know he's stumbled upon a portal to the spirit world. With the help of his intrepid equally-alcoholic friend Tomty, Tristan is determined to unravel the identity of this "Green Lady" and the tragic history that binds her to the manor.
Not forgetting Baldy, and his new-found yet soon-lost love Anna Lee, where he writes into Adrian and Tony to tell them of his love, using 150 Bon Jovi song tiles for some bizarre reason.
Come on in and listen to a visit to Mr. Gansey and his 18 cats, hear some smooth jazz and his television blaring out episodes of ‘Minder’. Mr. Gansey wants you to have his house when he’s dead, the only snag being you must live with him until he dies.
Music oozes forth from Cavo, Ozzy, Sabaton, Ghost, Slipnot, and Volbeat! Also too from other bands with more than one word in their name.
The Friday Rock Show. More than just a podcast. More than just a show.
It’s institutionalised!

The Friday Rock Show - 48 - Wacken Off
Monday Jan 01, 2024
Monday Jan 01, 2024
This ravenous slab of the Friday Rock Show brings you all the chaos and excitement of the heavy metal festival Wacken Open Air in Germany. Between the thunderous downpours, blaring guitar riffs, and rabid fans, hosts Adrian and Tony try to wrangle interviews with rock legends and read eccentric letters from listeners about mosh pit etiquette, time travel paradoxes, and ragers gone wrong.
Get an exclusive insider's view of the mud, sweat, and beers - not to mention the boundary-pushing behaviour - that define this beloved annual European tradition.
It's the Friday Rock Show #48! Presenter Adgeen Byrne and producer Tony Wilson take on a monsoon of metal in more ways than one, pitching their DJ tent in the ‘mud puddle’ at the Wacken festival. They hanker for Doro Pesch, reminding themselves of when they last interviewed her ten years previous, but soon they’ll see her in the flesh onstage closing the night at Wacken. Adrian seems nervous as the lightning is out to get him while FRS reporter Brian Turgidy checks out the bearing load of the festival toilets.
There’s listener letters read out from inside a plastic toilet cabin and at the mud puddle side-stage, stories from Shawn Canary about working around Gary Lineker’s ego, Pastor Badpaw on old man Doggy, a ranting and possibly stoned Gabbler in his sci-fi spot, a phlegmy Chief Philty, and an incredible story sent in from Lilo McGregor about meeting his titanic twin from another dimension, where only the Timefiddler and Tucker Peacock can ‘set him right’.
Crack open a Trooper, dowse the scaldy balls in talcum powder, and listen to the on-stage performances of Doro, Powerwolf, and Rammstein! German metal baby! Ooh ja.
Alissa White-Gluz from Arch Enemy joins Adgeen and Tony behind the stage for a chat on the precarious state of slam-diving and moshing for ladies at metal festivals such as here at Wacken, where incidents of rubbing and pushing in the moshpit threaten to cast a pall on proceedings, and also where Adgeen might have taken things a bit too far, much to Alissa’s disgust, showing her his new tight trousers.
Amon Amarth are berserking! Ghost are dance macabre-ing! And Baldy gives Jude Law’s ring-piece a good seeing to at the Craniosacral therapy centre. You know, even Biff Byford shows up in his long coat! Oh, it’s all here under the relentless rain and belching thunder at the Wacken Open Air metal festival. So, strap on the bulletbelt and come join Adgeen and Tony for the slippery slosh of a simply spectacular Friday Rock Show.
Dare to be odd. A&M create original, scripted, character & plot-driven comedy dramas. We construct fully immersive HD audio adventures. More than just a podcast.

Panspermia III
Monday Jan 01, 2024
Monday Jan 01, 2024
It came to pass. The (son of) Baldy was crucified by metal-hybrid Foghornious, usurping the orders of Soupalon High Commander Dickus Soupus to fake the killing as a show of dominion over Earth. Dickus Soupus knew all about betrayal, he had sent five humans to the nearest Soupalon planet colony, The Savage Garden, under the guise of his own revolution, only for the humans to be trialled by Pedup Bauer, head gardener, to exploit human weakness and use it against them, via The Facefly, The Trail of Bees and Gay Chris’s Futcha-Futcha game show.
But the humans prevailed and the garden destroyed, only after the most revolting human in history, Baldy, gave birth to an egg rectally. The (son of) Baldy was born and after crucifixion, born again! Guiding the remaining 4 tenacious, reckless, human resistors, Ratchly town residents: Tucker, Arlee, Jagger and Busher, to destroy Soupalon plans of pumping Neozine at the Ratchly Chemical Factory into the crop spray.
Neozine would infect the food chain and infantilise human brains, breeding idiocy and bringing Soupalon closer to full invasion. Imogen Telch, the woman who helped our heroes, freed them from Whitehaven Asylum, was slain by Foghornious before it, factory foreman Bert Kavanagh, Soupalon High Commander Dickus Soupus and assistant Spikus, all drowned as Tucker thwarted Bert Kavanagh’s final attempt to unleash the Neozine into the supply pipes.
The Soupalon interdimensional enemy, The Meemong, first found on the face of Busher, then through radio frequency to Arlee, and after through Imogen Telch, assisted our able men by abducting then decapitating Busher, fusing a giant baby head to his body so as to ‘fight like babies’ to defeat the Soupalon Neozine plan.
Now, The Meemong have sent The Ratchly Resistance: Tucker, Arlee, Jagger and Busher, in intergalactic flying armchairs, to follow The (son of) Baldy to the Soupalon home world. With just one aim. Kill all Soupalons.
Come taste us. A&M audiofilms, audio adventure at its finest.

Monday Jan 01, 2024
This hilarious episode covers everything from '80s rock to stalkers, fires, and digestive mishaps. Adrian and Tony take us on a nostalgic musical journey back to 1986, but things take a dark turn when Chris describes animals planning to end it all.
Just when you think it can't get crazier, Gerry Dixon ignites a fire at a Taylor Swift concert. And if that wasn't enough, Ramsey Longstaff assaults a dwarf on the set of Game of Thrones when curry gives him the runs.
Then a letter arrives from Tucker Peacock Wilson about his chaotic trip back in time. Alongside the eccentric Fiddler and his time-traveling horse-cart, they picnic to '80s tunes, get caught in a storm, and end up stranded after a deadly crash. It's a dangerous, nostalgic ride. You don't want to miss the insanity!

Frumpy Dumpster
Monday Jan 01, 2024
Monday Jan 01, 2024
After escaping an abusive marriage, Lindor finds her new life haunted by the shadows of the past when a school reunion stirs up traumatic memories. Driven by a burning desire for vengeance, she begins eliminating the men who caused her pain one-by-one. Lindor stops at nothing to right the wrongs done to her, even if it means becoming a killer. This audiofilm promo introduces her chilling mission of revenge, and the high price she pays for retribution. Closure comes at a cost.
Frumpy Dumpster is an A&M feature-length audiofilm. A podcast with bite. The fateful story of Lindor Lamb, a middle-aged woman who has just about had enough of men. As a young woman back in the 1990s, those were naive care-free days for Lindor, until that is when she encountered boss Payter Mayhem at Charry Marry Fun Park and then her school headmaster Sean Wrigley.
Further anguish was caused by her husband, the 'Old Bruiser' himself as she termed him.
Frumpy Dumpster is a feature-length explicit and sometime farcical story from A&M. We create original, scripted, character and plot-driven comedy dramas.
We construct fully immersive HD audio adventures. More than just a podcast.
Listen now to adventures from Mount Pheasant, Timefiddler, UCLS, Mental Holmes, ATRS, United Mutations, Panspermia and the Friday Rock Show. All with beautiful sound design and irreverent humour.

The Friday Rock Show - 46 - Live from the World Cup
Monday Jan 01, 2024
Monday Jan 01, 2024
It's the Friday Rock Show live in Russia during the World Cup 2018, from the Fisht stadium in Sochi. Presented by Adgeen Byrne and producer Tony Wilson.
We're ensconced in the bowels of the stadium for the England v Panama match. We've got 8 fantastic full-foley listener stories from Payter, Berty Gock, The Weatherman, Baldy, Mauldy x2, Tucker and a fanatical one from Jagger:
"Last time we spoke I was alone in the world. Mocked and excluded for being a religious fanatic. I believed my Lord had forsaken me until the kindness of an old woman came to me like a candle in the darkness."
"Since then I have cut myself off from anyone who ever mattered to me in the world and live a monastic existence roaming the hills of Greenane by day and retiring to the shelter of my rented room by night."
"Late one night following prayers and meditation I allowed myself the comfort of a spliff as I sat down in front of the TV." "As marijuana is one of God’s plants, the lord put it here for us to enjoy. I rolled up a fat one and settled down."
"After a few tokes I must have passed out for a bit on the couch but woke up to a startling announcement. The government were legalising the crime of murder for one night in an order to tackle the rising population and crime."
"All I could do was re-light the joint and inhale once again to calm my nerves. For the second time I must have went back to sleep to be awoken by the sound of warning klaxons. It had begun, already? I fell off the sofa and scrambled around for my keys to lock the place up. This wasn’t right."
"My own government condoning murder? I reached for the anti-depressants the doctor had prescribed me. Panic started to grip me...".
Hear the near 9-minute adventure into the heart of sickness from Jagger. Plus we've lots of great rock music from the time to nod your bonce to. So come in, scan your ticket and join us for a five-star five-finger death fishting in Sochi. The Friday Rock Show No #46, live in Russia.
Two hours of madness. DJ Adgeen and producer Tony out in Russia, met by Kris who helped them speak the local, and they even got to punch World Cup mascot Zabivaka. Tony nearly getting his forehead split open with a bottle of 'Moskovskaya Osobaya'.
But back to that overblown sci-fi and occasional FRS contributor Professor Critic; he loves all the George Lucas shite, he cares a whole lot, but does he have faith no more as he lets rip his acerbic sneer on this most touchy of fanboy subjects?
Usually over the last ten years the Professor just likes to pop up every time Jon Bon Jovi drops an emotional turd and duly murders him with words. But this time it's personal. Listen to this 7 minute desecration of The Last Jedi and 'evaluate the use of your own opinion' as they say in psychodiagnostics.
Only on the Friday Rock Show, live in Russia. In the Fisht.
We are A&M. We create original comedy-drama audio adventures to sternly tongue your earhole. These affectionate little bastards are our audiofilms. Packed with full-foley effects and HD immersive audio.
With feature-length SF epics such as United Mutations and Panspermia, we present dense plots and descend into explicit experimental storytelling.
Come taste our farcical endeavours from our demented array of characters starring in 'Mount Pheasant', 'U.C.L.S.', 'Mental Holmes', 'The Friday Rock Show', 'Timefiddler' and much more.

Mount Pheasant II
Monday Jan 01, 2024
Monday Jan 01, 2024
Mount Pheasant returns. In this second outing; the unemployable Richard Pheasant still roams the Mount Eidel streets on the Irish east coast looking for something to do.
And he is still sick.
But just how sick? Listen on to this 53 minute full-fx audio fiction adventure from A&M.
In the beginning Richard Pheasant visits his manager Lionel Penton in hospital... Then at the nearby Falconhorst Chemical, run by Niklas Van Falconhorst, he and right-hand-man Broadleaf O’Hara are conspiring to get rid of a warehouse of Iodine.
Local courier Shameless Hagan is to despatch a visit to local councillor Egritte Manbender, much to the shock of her boyfriend Ponkin Bourke.
Meanwhile Cottle Fardell of Eidel Radio needs to find a scoop or he’s fired. Both he and Ponkin sit in Dessie’s ‘Monday Club’ pub, telling Richard that he’s a very brave man.
Not to worry, Richard will find a job soon. And that is where Niklas comes back in and takes it all downhill from there.
Come to Mount Eidel, where cans of Tuborg give you an awful wind. As they scuttle precariously down through Mount Eidel on a moped, Dick Pheasant is embroiled in helping out Ponkin, to discover just what Shameless Hagan the courier is doing with Ponkin's girlfriend Egritte Manbender.
Later, Dick becomes the centre of attention at Falconhorst Chemical. Anyway, who cares? Ponkin cares! He cares about Egritte, and he cares about his friend Dick. Sometimes though, it's all too much for him...
Then the deadly disastrous denouement is upon Dick Pheasant in Mount Eidel, as the 'Project Cure' benefit night at Falconhorst Chemical begins. DJ Sammy is here. Niklas Van Falconhorst is poised. Cottle Fardell is ready. Time for Dick to take centre stage...

Adrian & Tony Radio Show II (ATRS)
Monday Jan 01, 2024
Monday Jan 01, 2024
Maggots, perilous cliffs, and feral woodsmen - oh my! Join Tony and Adrian on the survival trip from hell as their dreams of an epic adventure with Bare Grills descend into a rainy, injury-filled nightmare.
With nothing but Tony's bag of tricks and Adrian's wit to keep them going, their hilarious missteps and cringe-worthy meals will make you think twice about going into the wilderness unprepared. Their journey concludes with a strange twist that you won't see coming!
ATRS: The Adrian & Tony Show, is basically just that, two male presenters engaging, for one hour, in the hard art of coping with all the slings and arrows of outrageous idiocy that befalls them each time they go on air.
In this second episode, the presenters make an appearance on an all new 'Running Wyld' with Bare Grills. Famous DJ Adrian Byrne and producer Tony Wilson of the Friday Rock Show are Bare Grills’s guests tonight for a survival test in the windy wild west of Ireland.
Over the next two days they’ll traverse treacherous terrain in the remote Irish highlands. They’ll descend towards a mountain lake surrounded by deep bogs and find food and shelter for the night.
On Day Two they’ll reach a coastline and have to find their way down deadly sea cliffs to their extraction at the sea. Or will they?
This ain't just jogging around and posing with the flat stomach, this is actual real work, with heart-in-the-mouth, balls-rammed-up-yer-pipe endurance where raw testicles are eaten and ropes are clung on tight to for dear life, in this most epic of outdoor podcasts ever attempted.
Not to mention the dark spirits that lurk in the woods...
Appreciate this audio adventure now.
We love to listen here at Amplevoicepod. We spend hours upon hours of studiously perfecting our aural output. And here's another little gentle squeeze of your ear, just to kind of say "hi" and "we're here if you need us".

Panspermia II
Monday Jan 01, 2024
Monday Jan 01, 2024
When Baldus washes the feet of Jagger and others, they are skeptical of his claims to be a prophesied savior. However, his uncanny knowledge and insistence on sacrifice to save them leads some to believe.
After a staged crucifixion goes horribly wrong, resulting in (son of) Baldy's actual death, the group debates the meaning of these strange events.
An encounter with the Meemong further suggests Baldy fulfilled a cosmic purpose. This imaginative episode explores perspectives on redemption and the tension between doubt and faith in the face of the inexplicable.
In this enthralling new audiofilm fiction adventure, PANSPERMIA II, our heroes Arlee, Jagger, Tucker and Busher have escaped the Soupalon & their Savage Garden and have re-entered Earth, currently hiding out in Dessie Morgan’s pub on Ratchly town square.
(Son of) Baldy had been sent to guide our heroes but instead he has turned himself in to the Soupalon as an act of 'pure love' to save humanity. The Soupalon are confused by this behaviour. They had already engineered his body double, the one they called 'Baldus', to infiltrate the humans, by washing their feet inside the pub.
So now, in the square outside the pub, Dickus Soupus, Soupalon High Commander, needs to make an example of the (son of) Baldy to show the humans that resistance is just not on.
The sun is about to rise on the real (son of) Baldy’s ultimate sacrifice. The only hope for our primitive band of humans is Imogen Telch, who wants to 'seed the world' with the power of the Meemong, calling upon these celestial beings to save Earth and destroy Soupalon.
A truly epic 96 minute sci-fi monster showcasing the creative brains of Byrne & Taylor. It's new, it's fresh, it's original. Take a chance, lie back and enjoy it.
A&M make audio fiction comedy drama adventures where we submerge your ears in a sea of sound, putting you at the heart of the story along with our heroes.
Bursting out feature-length stories with over 40 titles and 50+ characters, all created from collaborative ideas and sculpted over months to arrive at the final mix.
All characters are voiced by Adrian Byrne and Michael Taylor, going back years and years with new adventures on the way.

The Friday Rock Show - 43 - Battle Breasts
Monday Jan 01, 2024
Monday Jan 01, 2024
This week on the Friday rock show, hosts Adrian and Tony receive a dramatic letter from listener Norbert. He describes his turbulent relationship with Mimi, a former lap dancer with aspirations of fame.
Norbert recounts how he recently attended Mimi's autobiographical play, only to find their past romance completely omitted. Furious, he confronts Mimi backstage, leading to a heated argument that turns into passionate sex.
Meanwhile, Norbert's online flirtation with another woman, Dawn, takes an intimate turn - until Mimi's sudden reappearance leaves Dawn witnessing their tryst through the webcam.
After this whirlwind of clashing expectations and desires, Norbert requests a song to commemorate the chaos. Tune in to find out which band Adrian and Tony select for this melodramatic tale of fame, intimacy, and omitting the past.
Producer Tony Wilson says: "Battle Breasts! Yes! This is The Friday Rock Show! Episode No. 43... Another two hours of MADNESS! I created this show back probably before you were even born and turned out the way you did. I'm sorry 'bout that."
"But looka! I'm on the cover of this show too, 'coz I'm a glory-hole. In this episode we get down on the phone to Noora Louhimo from the band Battle Beast as she tells us tales of running around the Finnish forests naked with the other band members. Then the 'Black Swordsman' jumps out and you know yis can never go back then."
"We hear bizarre, bemusing but brilliant stories from Tom Shergar, Baldy, Mimi, Cathy, Eric, Tucker and even a big sick story from Payter Farher as my ever presenting donkey DJ Adgeen Byrne tries to keep up in his old age."
"Music too from many moshers will keep you tappin' the toenail off the bed corner. And listen up now to the full fat 2-hour show itself. The whole lot of this FRS No. 43 and much more is blatantly exposed and shameless tarted up on all good podcastery."

U.C.L.S. 3 Hogweed
Monday Jan 01, 2024
Monday Jan 01, 2024
Toxic plants, insurance fraud, and ingesting dangerous substances set off a chain of chaotic events between friends in this episode. Hospital visits, war memories, interventions, and more keep the mystery and drama building as characters disappear and the conversation turns completely nonsensical.
Ah hello, talking to myself there. Welcome back to our U.C.L.S. friends! It’s year 3 at University College LoughFeg State. And it seems Floyd Frisbaine has made a new friend and judging by the goings on last night at the main college building, he may find him too hot to handle!
Todaytime has us with Accursis ‘Ace’ Byrne and Brian ‘Bubbles’ Waterbury, as they endure Saturday morning detention by planting seeds. Geography teacher Norman Tash is the hero of the hour. And he gets a medal for it! Science Professor Keith Chiselton meanwhile bristles with hardly concealed hatred for all of peoplekind.
Come Monday morning, he’s at UCLS gates exchanging unpleasantries with UCLS janitor Richard Soupe. Professor Keith Chiselton: Loving father and comic obsessive. For his daughter Sinead, after her Year One online virginity auction, she’s studying to be a Doctor!
Afterwards we go to LoughFeg’s Lough Feg where Accursis, Brian and Floyd gaze at their lint-filled navels. Dick harbours delusions of grandeur with powerful molestation as a UCLS teacher. While at Chiselton Manor, Sinead Chiselton is pumping out the sweat before large-lipped lampoonery leads Peter 'Wubba' O'Toole into launching himself under a wardrobe.
Fuckin' hell, it's action-packed isn't it? And there's so much more in this 90-minute audio comedy adventure. Manna for the ears mate. From producers Byrne & Taylor.
A&M bring you original strange storytelling inside their audiofilm comedy drama adventures. Submerging your ears in a sea of sound, putting you at the heart of the story along with our heroes.
Bursting out feature-length stories with over 40 titles and 50+ characters, all created from collaborative ideas and sculpted over months to arrive at the final mix. All characters are voiced by Adrian Byrne and Michael Taylor, going back years and years with new adventures on the way.

Monday Jan 01, 2024
Adrian and Tony have cooked up an unforgettable episode chock-full of surprises. Hear the inside scoop on the Bergen music scene straight from Audrey Horne's Toshie. Then bust out laughing as the hosts read and react to wild letters about a cranberry sauce radio stunt gone wrong and a creepy bathroom encounter. With its unpredictable mix of music, comedy, and peculiarity, this episode is one you definitely don't want to miss.
The Friday Rock Show No. 42 has jumped into the shell suit, slapped on the goggles, hoiked up the neck gaiter mask and clicked into its K2 alpine skis to launch down the black slopes of Kvamskogen in Western Norway.
There are no Øs in sight 'round here as producer Tony Wilson with savant presenter Adgeen Byrne head out into the cold once again and arrive in the 'copter at the Norwegian resort of Kvamskogen.
They took the tunes, pulled down the bobble hats and tore up the piste. They interviewed singer Toshie from Audrey Horne over the phone and had lots of great listeners' letters read out live on air.
There were big sick ones from Jagger, Clement, Payter, Jo Hoff, Tucker and the BEST day EVER for The Gabbler. We played moshin' metal music too from all sorts of lads and lassies.
So if you like that sort of thing, with fun and frolics with presenters, then you'll love this! And who wouldn't?

Tautologically titled 'The Friday Rock Show' it's just us and a few listener letters, which are lovingly read out on air. It's DJ Adgeen Byrne and producer Tony Wilson spitting and sparring to send you into sonic convulsions.

Mount Pheasant I
Monday Jan 01, 2024
Monday Jan 01, 2024
Dick Pheasant's seemingly mundane day unluckily goes from bad to worse when a run-in with his ex, a job offer, and a medicine mix-up leave him hiding in a state-of-the-art public toilet. Find out what happens when Dick's bid to avoid further escalating misfortune and humiliation backfire in spectacular fashion in a public meltdown. A promo from the 1hr 15min full feature, to let cranky old Dick Pheasant himself tell you about the pills, arse-slapping, and man-grooming going on as everyone wants to 'Mount Pheasant.'
"Howayis! My name is Richard Pheasant. Most people who know me call me Dick, the rest of Mount Eidel call me an old bollocks. I was a proud man. I took no shite. Not even from Egrit Manbender. She's on the Mount Eidel Development Association. She's stuck up like the rest of them here; Hubert Stelfark and Turtle Desmond. They hate me.
My mate is Ponkin Bourke. He volunteers on the council 'coz I think he fancies the posh Manbender one. Lookit, I gave the new public toilet installation a kick out of frustration right? Why not sure? I was angry! I was sick! Coming down with an awful pox. The Mount Eidel Association wanted to bribe me with beer to stop having public sex with my girlfriend Shlioler.
Why? The 'Mount Eidel Community Games' sports day was coming up and they were under stress to show off the town and didn't want my cock hanging out in the middle of it. Would I take up the offer? You may listen to the full 75 minute audiofilm adventure from A&M.
Then there's Cottle Fardell. I like him. He's intelligent. He's not as unemployed as me and tries to better himself. I've no time for that. I live a simple life in Mount Eidel. Collect me dole. Head to the pub. Meet the lads Ponkin and Cottle and then every Monday monring we hit Dessie Grafton's pub for the Monday Club with DJ Sammy.
Money for the town comes from Falconhorst Chemical. Sits just outside Mount Eidel. It's owned by German Niklas Von Falconhorst. He gives the town jobs and business and in return, their factory pollutes the fuck out of the river... Anyway, they make drugs and I needed them to cure my sickness! So I went to Falconhorst Chemical reception.
Standing between me and a box of drugs from my contact Broadleaf O'Hara, was the young and gorgeous if slightly sweaty; Rachel Stakkum. I didn't like Rachel Stakkum. She was ignorant. Insulting my reading habits. So what? The book in my pocket might not have been Aristotle, sure I only stole it from the library six months ago, but nevermind, I had me medicine and so, fuck her.
And so it came to pass. I made me a bet with Ponkin and Cottle. No sex for a month! Now I may have been delirious from those new 'Panadol' tablets Broadleaf gave me at the sweaty girl reception but anyone who knows me knows I never refuse a bet. But then, something in the newspaper would change my life.
Find out in the 75 minute Mount Pheasant from A&M. Here's a teeny weenie 2 minute tickle of what's in store for me. Luv n' hugs" - Dick.

The Friday Rock Show - 41 - Queens of the New Rage
Monday Jan 01, 2024
Monday Jan 01, 2024
Tony and Adrian are no strangers to chaos on the Friday Rock Show, but this episode takes the Burbon biscuit. They're joined by ferocious female rockers who quickly get fed up with Tony's sexist remarks.
The drama reaches a boiling point when Adgeen's dream girl calls in with unexpected news that leaves him utterly distraught.
Between Tony's meltdown, the uncomfortable interviews, and nonstop classic rock jams, this is one episode you won't want to miss. So get ready for a wild ride as Tony and Adrian try, and fail, to keep their rowdy radio show under control.
Producer Tony Wilson says: "This is it, this is the BIG one! The Friday Rock Show loosens the ladies' lips! On the FRS #41 we invited five of the biggest female front-women in rock on the show and chat to them about what drives them into the cliched, male-dominated, slightly-backward world of heavy metal."
"There's Suzuka Nakamoto, Elize Ryd, Sharon Den Adel, Taylor Momsen (who said she fucked a priest, but she was only cackin' out her arse as usual... Pretty reckless of her I'd say), and Maria Brink, to put us men in our place."
"Plus a surprise guest for my superstar preening DJ Adgeen Byrne, bringing back his obsessive memories of standing outside her window, writing 500 letters. And I had to help the poor tool."
"We play their music, we love their voices and we listen to them all night long. It's the Queens of the New Rage. Also, if that wasn't enough for yis, we've listeners' letters read out live on air from Baldy (again, he's like a bad smell), Dwayne and his diary, Jo Hoff De Bongerd, Tasher Singh, Martin J Tyler floats across the fields in a very trippy tale of lost love and we round off the 2-hour feminine feast with Busher and his 'THWAPPY PAA'!"
"What is a 'Thwappy Paa'? I'm not sure, and I was there, but I'll listen again to find out. And you can too, grab the full length on all the podcastery sites around. So just join Adgeen and Tony on their two-hour rock show 'The Friday Rock Show', reading our listener stories live on air, among the greatest rock & metal songs of the time."

Mental Holmes III
Monday Jan 01, 2024
Monday Jan 01, 2024
Tomathy Wilson brings his friend Aubrey Holmes to Vienna to meet with the famous Sigmund Freud, hoping the father of psychoanalysis can help explain Holmes' increasingly erratic behavior.
But their quest for answers only leads to more questions as Holmes' mental state spirals out of control. From public outbursts to disturbing delusions, Holmes' antics threaten to sabotage the meeting with Freud.
However, a chance encounter with the charming yet mysterious Richard Murphiarty sheds new light on Holmes' condition. Murphiarty implies that Holmes' problems actually stem from many years before back in Ireland.
With Holmes' sanity and their friendship hanging in the balance, Wilson must separate truth from fiction and get to the bottom of what really happened to his friend.
Will Freud be able to unlock the secrets of Holmes' troubled mind? Or does the key to the mystery lie within Murphiarty's cryptic revelations?
Join Wilson and Holmes on their whirlwind adventure in pre-war Vienna, where nothing is quite as it seems.
Oh Vienna! They run into old friend Seamus Byrnie working at cáfe Diglas on Strobelgasse. Therein a chance meeting with the mysterious Professor Murphiarty leads them to visit the Wiener Konzerthaus at his behest.
In the lobby they meet Austrian Chancellor Ignaz Seipel and all hell breaks loose once seats are taken.
Culminating in the worst possible of situations and the fracturing of a friendship. Only Sigmund Freud has the answers.
Das Es, Das Ich, Das Uber Ich!
An egotistic, id-laden 72 minute adventure to find out who exactly is 'mad in the head'?
Another foley-filled, action-packed, highly-aural adventure from A&M.
Seriously, it's good stuff. Like a film in your ears.
Shut your eyes and immerse yourself in this insane trip to Vienna in 1924.

The Friday Rock Show - 40 - A Massive Cocker
Monday Jan 01, 2024
Monday Jan 01, 2024
A radio show tries to lift listeners' spirits with rock music while fielding letters about job loss and questionable research methods. The hosts thank their regular fans for support during turbulent times.
Producer Tony Wilson says: "Would you look at the size of the cocker on this! The Friday Rock Show is back lads with our 'Massive Cocker' hanging out. The FRS #40 contains all you need to aid your recovery and “get in ‘round the back” (or whatever Barnsey said for cash back in the ’80s)."
"A Massive Cocker is super squeaky clean and refreshing too! We’ve music from The Blackout, Audrey Horne, The Beards (askin’ if you’ve “ever had sex with a bearded man?”) and then there’s- wait, hold up there, ‘bearded men’?"
"Sure the world is jammed up to the hilt with those bearded metrosexuals with their tattoos, lack of socks, tight blue chinos and brown brogues, all flickin’ at their pads and strutting assertively to the toilet after yet another caramel macchiato*… Fucksake."
"What happened to REAL MEN hah?"
"More music from Amaranthe, Less Than Jake and VOLBEAT! (I love Volbeat, did I ever tell you that?) But more importantly than more music is more letters read out on air by stingy tight-hole DJ Adgeen Byrne and me Tony Wilson, sexy producer."
"There’s Itchy Kraut on about his mate Zinedine Zidane, then there's Seamus Canaan, Professor Critic, Tucker in 101BC, Orpheus Telch and Prince Gwandinus Bollokiah. Household names one and all."
"'A Massive Cocker' is sponsored by the PET-E-SURE pet insurance company and we even run a promotion for them in the show too. And this very clip too is just a 3 minute promotion of the full 90 minute match made in heaven!"
"*Okay, okay, I do like a caramel macchiato meself, sure, but that's not the POINT!"

Mental Holmes II
Monday Jan 01, 2024
Monday Jan 01, 2024
Is transplanting monkey testicles into humans the secret to eternal youth? Holmes and Wilson are willing to find out during a radical medical experiment in 1920s Germany.
But their surgery takes an unexpected turn when revolutionaries seize the medical clinic mid-operation.
Follow along as Holmes takes extraordinary measures to save his friend Wilson's life in the fallout.
It's a heart-pounding journey through the quest for rejuvenation, the perils of experimental medicine, and the chaos of an uprising. Listen now!
It's 1923. We join Aubrey Holmes and Tomathy Wilson aboard a swiftly trundling pan-European train trip culminating in the Munich train station. Everything here is inflated: bread, beer and egos.
Aubrey and Tomathy are in town to take rest and relaxation, their goal being Baden Baden, but there’s a slight problem with the local German translation from guide Stephan.
It’s only the beginning of the experiment which putches them from beerhall to prison to operating table! They meet an old friend while enjoying a hearty lager at the local Burgerbraukeller but trouble ensues, resulting in them being thrown into Landsberg prison.
Within the panopticon Aubrey befriends a furious little cellmate who has big ideas for the future...
But that is nothing compared to the fate that could befall Tomathy Wilson as he finally gets to meet the world-renowned surgen Dr. Voronoff at the Munich University Hospital.
It could be more reinvigorating than Tomathy had bargained for.
Bring me the monkey! Absorb the full 52 minute Munich spa trip sickener.

Adrian & Tony Radio Show I (ATRS)
Monday Jan 01, 2024
Monday Jan 01, 2024
On their radio show, Adrian and Tony prepare for the supposed end of the world due to a Yellowstone eruption. But when a caller shares a new Mayan calendar date, even stranger events occur.
Tony sees public chaos, natural disasters strike, and he's kidnapped by his childhood bully. As Tony disappears and global catastrophes hit, Adrian comes to believe the premonitions of doom were right all along.
Is the apocalypse now? A disastrous one hour radio show from A&M starring DJ Adrian Byrne and producer Tony Wilson (the 'ATRS') finds out.
There's something going on in Yellowstone Park in the USA, strange sounds abound in the sky and Tony is sent out to do a 'voxpop on the streets' to see if the world is really ending.
Special studio guest is the ATRS 'resident astrological expert'; famed astro-cosmologist Fabian Mortimer who presents Adrian with stunning new evidence from his Guatemalan jungle trip with Rodrigo.
He discovered a Mayan hieroglyphic stone and makes a fateful revelation live via Skype! Just what is it?
Later in the studio DJ Adgeen meets the 'extinction event' guest himself, the ATRS 'resident professor'; the flared nostrils of Professor Mick Chiselton.
They talk of which ways we could be wiped out; a deep space impact, a solar storm, planet X, the magnetic pole shifting or nuclear war?
Which one would you like? Probably the one where our own stupidity does us in, as is evident.
Listen to the Adrian & Tony Radio Show and find out. It's pretty seriously ominous... with the shocking pronouncement that baked beans are the ideal gift for the one you love...
"Flummications are all around!"

Monday Jan 01, 2024
Monday Jan 01, 2024
It's the 25th anniversary of the Friday Rock Show with hosts Adrian and Tony! These seasoned radio veterans take a trip down memory lane, from their early days on the air to favorite moments over the decades.

Let producer Tony ilson tell you himself:
"Yeah, sure, we at THE FRIDAY ROCK SHOW decided to self-flagellate and honour our magnificence and munificence- (Fuck, I'm wordy today, like that dipshit Russell Grant, eh no, wasn't he the rotund astrologer? No, I mean that other manlady 'Russell Braaand'... but I hear he's at it again so the less said...), anyway we forcefully celebrated 25 years in the rock biz not long ago."
"So me, best producer ever, Tony Wilson, and overpaid preening DJ Adgeen Byrne, flashed yis our silverbacks. It's a Friday Rock Show anniversary special showcasing a quarter of a century’s advancing idiocy with an outcast of unwell wishers, letter-mad fans such as Jagger, Kevin, Boba Fenton and Baldy (how'd he get in again?)"
"Even the Gabbler strips off to shove his Sci-fi Spot in our faces. Oh those favourite slots that just get you hot, there's the Best Bits, Don't Fuck Up The Microphone and Areyemadinthehead! Who? Just fuckin' listen! Then you'll know."
"Like it, love it, come ask for more and I'll give you watcha need. I'm here for youuu."
"And not only me and Adgeen, come inside the mighty Silverback and you'll witness a special ‘Ahind The Music’ documentary, charting the show’s inexplicable rise to dominance, hosted by the one-and-thankfully-only Paul Gombatuna."
"It's HUGE. And it's amazing. And it's great an' an', fuck it, I need your love, 'kay?"

Bert explains the economics of pig farming and laments the low prices farmers receive from the government.

The Friday Rock Show - 36 - The North Pole
Monday Jan 01, 2024
Monday Jan 01, 2024
From within a doomed, melting igloo at the top of the world, radio hosts Adrian and Tony regale their listeners with tales of music, friendship, climate change, and narrow escapes from disaster. Their friend Jagger's dreams of a reunion concert end in heartbreak and renewed purpose, while calls about science and pop culture give way to a fight for survival amidst the rising Arctic waters. Though faced with tragedy and loss, Adrian and Tony maintain their spirit and humor until the very end.
This fascinating episode chronicles the rise, fall, and redemption of Alberto, a small town karaoke singer whose life is turned upside down after a romantic encounter leads to scandal. Exiled for years, he attempts a bold comeback in disguise only to face violent retribution. Through an unlikely friendship, Alberto learns to make peace with his past.
Meanwhile, a fan's pilgrimage abroad takes a paranoid turn upon his return when a chance airport encounter leaves him fearing a swine flu diagnosis. His frantic isolation leads to an embarrassing mishap. This moving episode explores the power of gossip, the danger of assumptions, and the resilience of the human spirit.
Live, on a Friday, the mighty meniscus rubbing Friday Rock Show is back! And back with Pat Shaughnessy! Pat is the one and only guitarist from Greenane in Wicklow, Ireland. He performs in the double-jumper guitar suit the mother made him and not long ago he joined DJ Adgeen Byrne and me, Tony Wilson, on this here show up at the North Pole! Yes. The North Pole.
Pat played us a few of his icy chords in his icy cords as we were sent up North by management to broadcast, as they said, our "highly overrated yet frustratingly popular" rock show. We huddled in our 'Rock Igloo' to give you the very best to warm up your tubes.
We bring you Norman Tash and his (very) drunk geography, crispy biscuits and Pat 'The Fingerer' Shaughnessy in all his encrusted glory playing you some Joe Satriani, Led Zeppelin and eh, Vanilla Ice...
Stories and twisted tales aplenty too from Uncle Nobber, Lindor, Alberto, Tucker, Busher and Sheany Van Vesterhaysen. So it's time to rock down to, the Rock Igloo... Nobody takes you higher! (For at least 2 hours, 30 mins)...

The Friday Rock Show - 35 - Aul’ Skool
Monday Jan 01, 2024
Monday Jan 01, 2024
Get ready for a rollercoaster of emotions this week on the Friday Rock Show. Adrian and Tony spin classic tracks from bands like AC/DC and Metallica, but the real story is Boba Fenton's tragic tale of love found and lost at university. Through a series of letters, he chronicles his whirlwind romance with the enigmatic Yana, their painful breakup, and his endless yearning to rekindle their connection. From her brother's birthday party to her own alcohol-fueled celebration, Boba pursues his dream girl with reckless abandon. Yet their bathroom tryst only leaves him more confused.
Has he lost Yana forever? Boba's raw outpourings perfectly embody the euphoria and heartbreak of young love. His letters add intimate poignancy to Adrian and Tony's musical journey through the best of classic rock. Tune in for an emotional ride you won't soon forget.
Aul’ Skool is a retro lovin’, halcyon, gimlet-eye view of successful rock artists being nearly creatively healthy in 1987 (when our Friday Rock Show was first spat out), only for said rockers to be haggard, stale and still hanging on decades later… Just like us to be fair.
Who said rock was for the young? They’re dead now! We go Aul’ Skool with AC/DC, Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Doro and Judas Priest! They play us their hollow, jaded updated versions of themselves. As artists they say they have grown. Grown what though? Grown rancid carbuncles! Bigger? Better? Bullshite! Listen what you think on The Friday Rock Show Aul’ Skool special…
There’s correspondence from Dick Roache, ignoble flaccid member of the Irish parliament, worrying about everyone being unemployable again, Orcun The Keskin worrying about everything else and DJ Grooverider being ‘banged up in the Arabs’ as he puts it, in his mockney twang. And then there’s Boba Fenton. Boba has had it hard with women. So Boba wrote to the Friday Rock Show to explain. Over 4 distraught emails! So we bring you an exciting love-lorn quadrilogy ‘What is it with Women Eh?’
But wait! Achtung baby! It’s Doro Pesch! Ich liebe dich für immer! There's nothing The Friday Rock Show likes more than to squeeze the stars into our tiny, dingy, slightly Limburger-smelling studio. And that's what we did with German Metal icon Doro Pesch many moons ago. And what a lovely lady our little Nackenbrecher was.
DJ Adgeen Byrne was agog at her radiating Germanliness and I could only gurn spasmodically, grab me root and kneel nervously ahind the mixing desk. Along the way we did manage to get a few words out of her and, lucky for youse, I taped it! From the FRS 35, Aul' Skool, this is real Warlock babaay. Ja for sure! And, yep, you eagle-eared eejits, Doro wasn't sure we understood the song title ‘Herzblut’. But we did, or at least I did. Adgeen couldn't stop staring. Herzblut is indeed 'Heartsblood' meaning, like: "My thousand daily lusts after young ones are like great chains of iron on my spirit, and my soul shrivels inside me as if weeping heart's-blood from a thousand cuts, as I realise I am too old to get me hole from them".
Now yis understand? Knorke! A&M create original, scripted, character & plot-driven comedy dramas. We construct fully immersive HD audio adventures. More than just a podcast, something much stranger.

The Friday Rock Show - 34 - Silver Strand
Monday Jan 01, 2024
Monday Jan 01, 2024
Join Adrian and Tony for an action-packed edition of their Friday rock show live from the Silver Strand! They'll share funny listener letters, play new music, recap the week's events, and interview locals - but things take an unexpected turn when an unsigned band fails to play coherently and a large ship nearly crashes into the hosts, leading to an awkward encounter at the local school. This episode is chock-full of laughs, great tunes, and bizarre moments you won't want to miss!
Producer Tony Wilson says: "This is when me and dirty ol’ bastard Adgeen Byrne went to the seaside, set up the Rock Pool and did a live radio broadcast from the Silver Strand in the cold of an Irish summer. It’s The Friday Rock Show at the Silver Strand. Yis don’t know where it is? Well, hint, it’s not yer granny’s landing strip down on the old acre, no, it’s a beach on the east coast of Ireland..."
"It’s the ‘greatest shingle beach’ in the world, so say the desperate local tourist office, as they try stop residents fly-tipping across the dunes. Now it’s a painful fact, I don’t like the sun. Too big a star for me and I hate stars. Mostly the cunty ones living on this Earth… You know the sort, the attention beggars; ‘buy my shite ‘til I inject more botox.’ Thankfully I missed most of it."
"I’ve a 37-year studio tan, buried deep in patchbays, ribbon mics and big faders. Adgeen had to drag me off with the hat on and the talons out, to hit the beach and splash around. Nearly had a spasm. We dove into the wrinkly rock pool with submerged cassettes for music, unprovoked aggression for entertainment and other strange things that are not quite right."
"We’ve an array of wonderment in the show; ‘Pull the Nogger’, ‘Sgt. Bourney’s Lonely Rock Club Band’, ‘Professor Critic’, ‘Turgidy’ and ‘Areyamadindehed’. Plus stories from Colm, Busher, Katja, Joey Kafola, Gunnar Murphy and Baldy. We spurt out some great Paramore, Helloween, Nickleback, Bon Jovi, Judas Priest and Linkin Park too."
So come listen to Tony; unsheathe the feet, grate off the hard skin and head on down with him and Adgeen of The Friday Rock Show to the Silver Strand and splash around with us, here on this teeny 2.20 minute grain of a clip, where it’s indisputably confirmed that DJ Adgeen is a dirty ol’ bastard.
Then bask in the awesome full-length show wriggling down the streams yonder.

Monday Jan 01, 2024
U.C.L.S. 1 is an audio fiction adventure by A&M. The story of Floyd Frisbane, Accursis 'Ace' Byrne and Brian 'Bubbles' Waterbury, after meeting each other on the first day at University College Loughfeg State.
It's a time for moral advancement as they bond when trying to procure a virgin for Brian over the internet.
They must be careful not to rouse the attention of teacher Norman Tash who himself is intent on straightening this trio out.
Science professor Keith, meanwhile, is annually dismayed at the sheer stupidity of the year's intake and is contemptuous of Provost Broadleaf O'Hara as he struggles to keep Loughfeg State University afloat.
Janitor Dick Soupe is barely holding the buildings and himself together as he tries to help the new enrollees integrate.
On Loughfeg's main street, Finny and Pavla trade insults as they helm Finny's bar while attempting to avoid catching the red eyes of resident comic-lover barfly Baldy Kendall and U.C.L.S computer teacher Ciaran Brennan.
A remedial held-back-in-class short clip from the full-feature 2hr 14min adventure.

The Friday Rock Show - 33 - Twenty Years
Monday Jan 01, 2024
Monday Jan 01, 2024
Get ready for a nostalgic ride as Adrian and Tony celebrate 20 years of their Friday Rock radio program. They reminisce about classic moments like the time a listener was accidentally run over by the Pope's secretary in Rome, then met the Pope who died in front of him, and eventually became the new Pope's secretary.
Jagger calls in to share how he's calmed down and gotten into reading the Bible. There are plenty of other crazy stories about past shows, like the unforgettable woodwork teacher Mr. Melon. Sprinkle in some classic rock songs and it's a hilarious, mad stroll down memory lane.
Love your ears, let them flop and dangle along to the mighty Twenty Year Special from The Friday Rock Show. Adgeen and Tony have sparred over the microphone and gotten smart with each other for decades now.
They’ve taunted, tricked and traded barbs. They’ve hocked, wheezed, sneezed and spat. Belched, burped and broke wind in a box room down in a basement, far away from polite society. And a good job too. Festering in their own bile and rancid juices, fermenting the next Friday Rock Show, the next strange story within and the next ignorant riposte across the airwaves.
Listeners’ letters are attacked at will. There’s bemusery from Payter Farher, Fabian Mortimer, Baldy, Jagger, Simon Spratt, Turlough, Tucker, Shay Mozzarelli, Busher and Tom Shergar to name but most of them. It’s a symphony of sick, a cornucopia of crazy and a damn good time hearing their tales.
Also there’s actually some rock ejaculated across the riotous correspondence, pretty little ditties from Queens of the Stone Age, Type O Negative, System of a Down and more multisyllabic bands. Oh and Udo… Remember him? Surely you accept you know him; your balls would be to the walls if you didn’t. But this time, his solo effort was The Tune The Box Spat Out. Pity.
Then look no more for some ‘Mad Moments’, a hastily strewn together pile of puerility taken from the most recent ten years of shows up to the time this one went out, which by now is a long time ago but thanks to this you have the change to time travel back to when it was now.
Celebrate this jamboree of juvenility, this orgy of originality and rejoice, for the weekend is here, with the weekend men propelling the most intense podcast on the planet. This is the Twenty Year Special from The Friday Rock Show.

The Friday Rock Show - 32 - Alabastered
Monday Jan 01, 2024
Monday Jan 01, 2024
This wild episode of the Friday Rock Show features scandalous letters from listeners describing their crazy escapades. Jagger recounts being kidnapped, tied up, and forced to watch group sex acts after finding cocaine. Omar seeks advice on how to interpret a Polish girl's advances. Neddy describes drunken debauchery and paying for sex in Spain. The shocking stories lead to discussions about dating, partying, and morality. Tune in for the juicy details.
Hard rock halleluiah! Lordy, lordy, eh? Lordi? Who? Uh, no it’s not just the tune the Finns shat out, but it’s praise be indeed for another Friday Rock Show.
Hewn from the stratified limpet brains of DJ Adgeen Byrne and producer Tony Wilson.
They’ve alabastered themselves all over with The Friday Rock Show No.32. Pasty, lined and cold to the touch, we chip away at the dusty, gnarly face of the calcified absurdities of rock.
There are chiselled boulders of inarticulate and explicit stories from our listeners, including Jagger, Uzbeki, Gabbler, Eric, Umar and Floyd Excelcius Ginkle. Not to mention the spits, curses and all round passive aggressiveness of Busher, for whom we roll some AHA! out in honour of his favourite band. They write in, we read out and all sorts of tectonic shifts ensue.
We blow some speakers with Manowar, head to California with the Red Hot Chili Peppers and get stoned with Tool. Letter-writer Gabbler flies back later in the show perched atop his Millenium Sirocco to give us his Sci-Fi Spot and there’s always time for a bit of ‘Don’t Fuck Up The Microphone’.
However, the stupendous ego of Leo soon bounces raggedly into our view, sending us his story of studying ‘boom frequencies’ and claiming false sexual conquests.
Come rappel down the smooth eroded slope of The Friday Rock Show No.32 with us and let’s get Alabastered together. Simply the best, highest, thin-aired peak of rock shows, on a Friday.

The Friday Rock Show - 31 - Looking Back at 2003
Monday Jan 01, 2024
Monday Jan 01, 2024
Get ready for a rockin' good time with Adrian and Tony on The Friday Rock Show.
This episode packs a nostalgic punch with the best hits of 2003, plus letters from listeners reliving their wild nights, relationship woes, and life stories from that epic year. The DJs' hilarious takes on tales of pub crawls, friends spending too much money at questionable lapdacing clubs, and losing crushes to foreign love interests, the stories spark debate and laughs. Adrian and Tony's witty banter ties it all together into an entertaining snapshot of life and music and will having you chuckling aloud. Their rapport with listeners through calls and texts makes you feel like part of the party. So tune in, rock out, and join the fun - this time capsule to 2003 with Adrian and Tony is a blast!
Strutting awkwardly down the steps into the pert parlour of plenty, flanked each side by Mirjana and Irena, Adgeen and Tony stumble through red velvet curtains. Two glasses of Louis Roederer’s finest Cristal are shoved in their faces by an effortlessly slender gentleman. Tony slaps him away, ordering instead two bottles of Tuborg much to the smirks of other McLapdancer staff.
Adgeen’s about holding it together for the after party here but Tony has just pissed himself, wobbling toward a private room with a square-jawed Estonian. 50 Cent comes thumping on the P.A. and a thonged girl with a live snake jumps up on a shiny podium. Adgeen tells no-one in particular that “50 Cent was shot 8 times don’t you know”. Tony roars back beyond a curtain: “Yeah, but not in the head though!”
The Friday Rock Show is ‘Looking Back At 2003’, when Ugg boots, double denim and Justin Timberlake were somehow relevant. A ghastly time for all involved but there was a sliver of Olympian light in the form of The Darkness, The Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age and Audioslave.
Adgeen and Tony tear into incredulous letters sent in from Tucker, DJ Jaffa, Mickleen, Clare, Gabbler, Busher and Seamus Conman, regaling us with tales of their strange goings-on in 2003. A time when everybody was trapped in lapdancing clubs, drinking too much and racking up huge credit card debt to fund whole families back in Eastern Oestrogena. But, my, they were lovin’ it! Da-da-da-da-daaaah!

The Friday Rock Show - 30 - Brittas Bay
Monday Jan 01, 2024
Monday Jan 01, 2024
May, 2001, Ireland. Two men arrive late in the morning on a cold and empty Irish east coast beach. They are hungover. They are limping. They look at each other squinting. “This is it” one mumbled. “It’s done… Time to put on those headphones one last time…”
It wasn’t one last time.
Adgeen and Tony were back! And the Friday Rock Show ‘Brittas Bay’ special of 2001 was a masterclass in how to bottle a beautiful bowel movement.
But they got by with a little help from their financially-induced friends. Dave O’Leary, Stephen Hawking, Ciaran Brennan, Neddy Tafler, Mr. Mellon, Gabbler, Leo McGregor and Paul Gombatuna all lent a well-remunerated hand in bringing the Friday Rock Show back on the air.
Holding court among the bemused lobster-fleshed locals, bubbling farts in their ‘Rock Jacuzzi’, Adgeen and Tony sat on a Wicklow beach to present the first Friday Rock Show of the new millennium.
They splash around, gurn, writhe and slap each other senseless in this epic summer special on Brittas Bay, Ireland’s ‘Premier Beach Attraction’ so someone says. You’ll hear some quite outlandish communiqués from our listeners.
Jagger nearly spills hash into his pint while watching Celine gyrate beside his armchair.
Neddy is so horny, his cock might explode as he soon gets his conquest ‘up the duff’.
Baldy travels down to Wexford to fall in love with Becks from Coolgreany and proceeds to eat all her food.
Then there’s Karen McGaa, who starts work at the ‘Donation Station’ in a sperm bank, soon to be hypnotised by Quentin’s larger-than-expected contribution.
Finally there’s Gerry Dixon, who’s very angry at the ‘First Wives Club’ of his local GAA community, spitefully telling us they’re all ‘skulling back pints’, ‘riding in tractor sheds’ and ‘building a house next to the ‘mammy’’.
Witness more spots than you can flick a snot at, with Who Wants To Be a Millionaire, Gabbler’s Sci-Fi Spot, The Tune The Box Spat Out, Don’t Fuck Up The Microphone and a bevy of promotional adverts to pick the sand out of your crack to.
Adgeen and Tony dance in the moonlight with Toploader, roll with Limp Bizkit, go loco with the Fun Lovin’ Criminals, steal some sunshine with Len and play sssshhpiderman with The Ramones! And even the sun briefly came out too.
It’s a mighty soggy sandcastle of a show. So throw down your towel and let The Friday Rock Show lash the air off your pimply blue skin with our Brittas Bay Special from 2001.

Yuletide Yobs - A Christmas Carol
Monday Jan 01, 2024
Monday Jan 01, 2024
Dick Soupe and Spike Mulligan are trying to earn money they owe Patsy their landlord for rent. The two are late for their morning shift as Santa Claus and elf at Swizzler’s Department Store, run by Mohammed Alfajar Fulhamhole.
Dick’s reaction to this seasonal job, coupled with a ‘Furby’ toy craze of that year and his lusting after young mothers, has Dick and Spike soon arguing over their pints in Joe Goggleses’ pub.
They’ll be turfed out of their flat before Christmas if they don’t get Patsy’s rent money. Spike moans about it while reading his new book on Nostradiddymus, the "middle century cacker" as Dick calls him.
Dick decides the best way to deal with things is to sleep on it, only to be visited by apparitions who take him on a journey to witness pivotal points of his past, present and of his future - should he stay on this path…
Yuletide Yobs is a vulgar little vignette of one man’s transformation again, again and again…

A&M started in the time of cheap tape recorders. We dwelt in an asbestos-riddled room penning scripts on puce-toned bookkeeping journals.
Flicking off the curious spiders, propping our legs up against noxious oil-wick heaters, we wrote frozen-fingered in the damp confines of a 200-year old cellar.
We then roared our scribblings into a 'Unisef' SZ 70 Portable Stereo cassette player microphone, (making sure to press record). We played our two voices from that in the background onto a JVC RCW40 deck that had a surprisingly good built-in mic. We overdubbed and overdubbed, ending up with a hiss-filled cacophonous chorus of puerile teenage filth.
